Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are stalls available for rent?
A: You can call Keith Kramer, owner of Triple K Stables, at 608-835-7285 to request if a stall is available and inquire about the stall fee.

Q. Is there food on the grounds?
A: Yes. We always have food available on the grounds.

Q. Is there a Grounds Fee?
A: No. However, we do request that participants all help maintain the grounds (pick up trash and dispose of manure) to help keep the area clean.

Q. Am I required to bring copies of Coggins?
A: Yes, OHA needs to see an original report and keep a copy on file as required by law.

Q. Are helmets required for participants age 18 and under?
A: No, but participants are highly encouraged to use an approved SEI helmet for riders of all ages.

Q. Are show clothes required for Halter classes?
A: Yes. Appropriate attire is required for halter classes. OHA follows guidelines required by the Wisconsin State Horse Council so you may want to check their website for specifics.

Q. Is a parent/guardian signature required for liability waivers for participants under age 18?
A: Yes. The appropriate signature must be completed on the entry form.

Q. Can gaited horses be shown at this show?
A: Yes, they will be judged according to their breed's rules.

Q. What is OHA's policy regarding refunds?
A: There are NO refunds once a class has been entered. You may be allowed to switch classes if time permits (at least 2 classes in advance).

Q. Is there an office fee?
A: Currently OHA does not charge an office fee. However, this is something under consideration.

Q. What are the rules for cross-entering from a Walk/Trot class to a canter class?
A: Cross-entering is okay for some of the Walk/Trot classes (see the show flyer for details).

Q. What are the rules for a child to cross-enter between Jr. Jr. and Tiny Tot?
A: As long as the child meets the age requirements, he/she is able to ride in both categories.

Q. When will the show photos be available?
A: OHA uses ShortHorse Studios as their photographer at the show. It is up to ShortHorse as to how quickly they are able to post the classes to their website. ShortHorse provides a copy of the win photos to OHA for sponsor recognition. According to our contract with ShortHorse, OHA may post the win photos on our website for up to one year. All photos are copyright protected by ShortHorse so use of any photos that may be on our website require advance approval.

Q. Where can I see the pictures from the show?
A: Short Horse Studios

Q. How can I sponsor a class, either personally or though a business?
A: Class sponsors are always needed to help defray the cost of awards (ribbons & trophies). If you are interested in becoming a class sponsor, visit our website link to the sponsorship letter and form for details.
