What is OHA The Oregon Horse Association (OHA) was formed in the early 1970s with about 10 founding members. The meetings were first held at Triple K Stables with owner, Keith Kramer, who remains as an honorary member to this day. Other honorary members include: Caine's Saddle Shop, who sponsors the traveling high-point trophy each year at our Memorial Day Horse Show and Country View Veterinary Equine Facility.
The OHA of today is a diverse group of people all dedicated to one thing, the horse.
Who We Are We are a nonprofit organization based in Oregon, Wisconsin but our members come from many communities in south central Wisconsin but mostly from the Brooklyn, Belleville, Oregon and Stoughton areas. We have interests in many equine-related activities including English and Western styles of riding, open horse shows, breed shows, trail riding, dressage, jumping, driving, training and parades.
We span a great age range too. We have toddlers as well as "mature" folks. People of all ages and interests are welcome to join!
Our Goals and Activities We promote and support responsible horsemanship, good sportsmanship, and equine education, but we also like to have fun with horses. Member-based meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month where we discuss and make decisions about our annual horse show, trail riding adventures, clinics and other fun activities. We also support our local 4-H events, an annual Memorial Day open horse show, the Oregon Summerfest parade in June and a holiday costume contest parade in November, a spring and fall trail ride, highway litter clean-up and a potluck parties. Many of our members also enjoy taking road trips to clinics and tack sales.
Our Affiliations We are members of the Wisconsin Horse Council and the Oregon Chamber of Commerce. We try to support other equine programs in our area via donations of time and/or money.
Social Media We post information on our website and on Facebook.
Membership Our club accepts either family or individual memberships. We encourage you to join by filling out this membership form. So, if you love horses, or any equine, and want to meet new friends then consider joining OHA! Owning or leasing a horse is not necessary to join. We can find many opportunities for you to be close to your equine dreams.
